Matrix NAC PECO Lock substation 230kv Behtlehem PA

PECO Energy Company LOCK SUBSTATION 230KV TO 34KV 2018

Location: Bethlehem, PA

PECO’s existing Moser Substation capacity did not meet their current load requirements, so the new 230-34 kV Lock Substation was built to supply the required load and support future customers. The new Lock Substation remotely ends at the Limerick and Cromby Substations. Matrix NAC was contracted to assemble and energize the substation.

Despite challenges of lengthy nuclear plant security checkpoints, stringent nuclear procedures requiring specialized equipment, and coordination with other on-site contractors working concurrently, Matrix successfully energized the substation on schedule and safely without injury or incident.
